Taking a page from the wonderful Lecy of A Simpler Grace who often shares these posts on her blog. They’re some of my favorites to read because they’re so simple and well, it’s a nice little catch up 🙂
If you and I had coffee…
I’d take you to this new-to-me coffee shop in the town of Denville that has a seasonal and to-die-for gingerbread latte on the menu. We’d split a scone or another dessert because they all sound delicious and I believe they’re freshly made at a local bakery and really, who can turn down a sweet? Also, it’s Wednesday and I dunno about you, but this has been a long week already so let’s crash from the sugar later, shall we?
I’d tell you all about the baby shower on Sunday and how nice it was to see family and friends. Well, mostly friends 😉 Ha! There was a bit of drama surrounding the event, but it happens, right? I received so many sweet messages from people who thanked me for not playing games or making them sit through the opening of presents. I made that decision purposefully because I have massive anxiety and don’t want 30 pairs of eyeballs watching me but also, who wants to watch someone open presents for an hour??
I’d ask if you’ve seen Marriage Story, a movie Bryan and I watched ON VALENTINE’S DAY because we’re super romantic like that. It’s stuck with me since. I loved it, even though it made me sad
I’d ask what you did for Valentine’s Day and if you also watched a movie about the dissolution of a marriage and if you think it’s weird that’s what we did lol
We’d maybe talk politics, at least a little bit. I’m so concerned about the upcoming election and have no idea what is going on with the Dems. Let’s put aside the bickering and name-calling and nonsense. It’s embarrassing and we can’t end up with another four more years, dear god please
*sips coffee lovingly*
I’d tell you that my host server is driving me nuts and I need to do a site migration and I’m terrified all my content will disappear and ooofa
I’d want to know your experience with handymen and painters in general and I’d ask if you’d tip a painter who said a nursery job would take 3 days and we’re on day 9 and the painting hasn’t even started yet. He’s been a no-show, called out, took a day off for President’s Day (…celebrating??), had car troubles, and a bum back. I want to be sympathetic, but I also want to get the room done pronto so we can get some order back in the house. To tip or not to tip?
We’d look at the time and realize we’ve been here longer than we thought and that’s just what happens when you catch up with an old friend, right? Before we leave, we each get a refill on gingerbread latte and vow to come back soon and catch up. BIG HUGS as we step out into the cold February afternoon.
