I had every intention of publishing this sooner (I might have just beaten my own personal record for latest monthly goals post), but you know—life happens. Also, is it just me, or is anyone else suffering from this humidity? I haven’t had a good hair day since May and it’s like stepping into a mouth every time I open the screen door (also thanks to whoever came up with that joke—there isn’t a more fitting phrase to describe the humidity in New Jersey this time of year).
WHAT UP, PARTY PEOPLES?!
I suppose you’re here to see what’s on tap for July and how I did in June, eh? Let’s get started by having a look back!
- Get back to the gym OR set aside time (3x/week) to work out in some capacity (yoga, bike, long walks, etc.) < big fat FAIL. Going back on the list for July
- Read! < I mean, I did finish two books. But I’m not checking this off because that’s super light, even in summer. I’m hoping to make it through at least three books this month; related: am I the slowest reader ever?
Have people over for a BBQ / get together.< I’ll mark this as being complete since we have had a lot of family over the past few weeks and Bryan’s niece keeps hinting at a sleepover so that might happen soon. But I’m hoping to have more friends come by in the coming weeks! Take care of things I’ve put on the back burner for way too long. Like that weird growth under my boob (TMI?) and figuring out other fertility options.< Yes. I finally had that pesky skin tag removed and also had my first acupuncture appointment (another one later today). I’ve also made an appointment at St. Barnabas to discuss fertility options and Bryan is coming with me so fingers crossed—I’m feeling good!
And that’s June in a nutshell (“Help! I’m in a nutshell! How did I get into this nutshell?”)
Anyway, let’s have a look at some goals for July, shall we?
Finally complete the living room and share a tour on my blog—it’s coming along and is possibly the ONLY room in the house that I feel is prime time ready, ha! It’s so pretty though and makes me happy every time I sit down
Pick up some lighthearted books and make it through at least 3. I just finished Before We Were Yours and it’s SO GOOD you guys, but HEAVY—based on a true story, it depicts life in an orphanage in Tennessee in the late 30s and the children who were often stolen from their families and mistreated horribly. As many as 500 were reported killed and it’s just horrific—but a really great read. So yea, need some light beach reads. Any recommendations?
Take better care of self—mind, body, spirit. It’s been so impossibly hot that I haven’t made it to the gym in a while but I have puppy yoga this weekend and have been taking Newton out for walks everyday so getting a bit creative with my workouts 🙂
And there you have it. Another short and sweet list. How about you?
