It’s a cold, rainy day in New Jersey, the perfect weather to get a bit of writing done before the storms of the day set in. This week has been kind of crazy—I’ve had a lot of work coming in (at my daily job, sponsored posts for my blog, and freelance work for my personal business). The days have been meshing together—appointments and lunches, to-do lists and meetings. I’m stuck in a book; not a bad book by any means, just not one I’m excited to finish and I have so many others waiting to be opened on my bookshelf. Sometimes I get impatient and want to crack another cover, but I can only mentally handle one book at a time. How about you?
Here are some other random thoughts I’ve been having lately, in no particular order, because stream of consciousness posts are my favorites.
Some people don’t want to be saved
There are people in this world who will use any excuse to get out of plans or won’t really try that hard to see you
And then there are those with multiple kids, who work full time, and still manage to check in on you when they are able. There is a LOT to be said for these kinds of people
Dogs make everything and every day much better. Don’t believe me? Go to your local shelter and spend some time snuggling with a fur friend
My hall pass is Seth Rogan; it gives Bryan weird feels in a “this is The Bar?!” kind of way. I’m oddly attracted to his hairy abs and horrible laugh. Do you have a hall pass? And in case you’re curious, Bryan’s hall pass is anyone with bangs or brains (Zooey Deschanel and Olivia Munn are high on his list)
There is nothing quite as comforting as walking into a clean home
Confidence is power. It is also the sexiest tool in your toolbox
Sleep is underrated
I need another vacation
