Happy Monday, sweet peas! How was the weekend, and what did you do? I’m moving at the speed of sloth this morning since I was up late to watch the Grammys—anyone else? There were some standout performances by Gaga, J-Lo, and Janelle Monae, but overall a lot of meh. Super proud of Brandi Carlile, someone I’ve followed for years—I’m happy to see her get her due (or “fur” as my phone autocorrected last night, lol).
It was a fun weekend—I had some friends over on Saturday (including a sweet little baby!) and lunch with another friend yesterday. Our accountant came over on Friday and while it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting any money back with the new tax laws, at least we don’t owe either. January felt like a dreadfully long month but I’m glad to make my way through the winter, slowly but surely. I promise we’ll all find ourselves in spring before we know it 🙂
Let’s look back at the goals I made in January:
- Do what feels good—with Buster’s passing last month, I knew to keep my goals simple and this was a great addition to the list. I cried, looked through old photos, texted friends, went out for sushi—whatever I felt would nourish my soul in the moment. It helped immensely
- Write it out—this helped, too! Though I should get back to journaling, I was diligent about staying on top of my blogging, even when I wasn’t always in the mood. I will consider that a win 🙂
- Read more—eh, not really. I finished Crazy Rich Asians last month, but that was the only book I made it through
Here are some goals I’m hoping to achieve in February. Wish me luck!
Reach 10K steps 3-4 times a week
Return to fostering
Book a vacation
Explore (and maybe purchase) a new Instagram preset
What’s on your list?
