There are some things in life that are totally unexpected, that can throw your world for a loop. Today we learned a valuable lesson in home ownership that you should probably buy a shovel before your first snow storm. Whoops. Last night I debated shuffling my feet in the driveway to clear the snow, but then I thought 1) I’d look like a total asshat to my neighbors and 2) it wouldn’t do much good, since the snow wouldn’t actually GO anywhere, I’d just be compacting it.
Anyway, welcome to Friday, a day to reflect on weekly gratitude with my girls Lindsay and Beth. Don’t forget to link up below and let us know what’s making your soul shine. Here’s my happy!
Having Bryan walk through the door last night. He was stuck in over two hours of traffic and I was a nervous wreck. According to him, it was the worst storm he has ever driven through but I’m glad he made it so this could happen
A night of comedy. We saw Tom Segura do standup at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair on Wednesday, and my goodness, I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. It was a much needed night out
Wegman’s. Just because
Snow days with leftover candy and Buster in pajamas
Getting freelance work and blog projects to help with the holidays this year
Deciding to skip Thanksgiving with my family this year. I’m bummed I’ll miss it, but doing two dinners in one day is just exhausting and I feel a weight lifted now that we committed to just one
Real Housewives of New Jersey, Dallas, and Atlanta (in order of preference, ha!)
50% off seasonal scents at The Body Shop—I was all out of body butter so perfect timing!

Oh I saw and heard about the commutes in Jersey with that storm! I’m so glad Bryan made it home ok too! And I’m dying over Buster in the PJs. DYING. He is too cute. I hope you have a great weekend my dear! XOXO

I am not a fan of driving in the snow… Buster looks so cute in his pajamas 🙂

Oh my god, that photo is adorable! I’m glad that Bryan got home safe – that must have been scary! The Body Shop does have some great items. I’m excited about all these deals coming out; I just need to be careful with what I get. LOL I need to buy more for OTHER people.

That unexpected snow-storm snarled traffic everywhere in our region. And owning a home means a whole new set of responsibilities. I remember being told I had to suddenly pay $6,000 for a new cesspool when I didn’t even know we had an old one. 🙁

Driving in a storm sounds super scary. I freak when there’s just a tiny bit of snow. Love the cuddly pic, and yes, his arm does look a bit naked. Good for you on only committing to one dinner. You’d be so socialized out and full from the first that I can’t imagine the second would be much fun anyways. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is just say no.

Aww.. Happy Buster! And yes to Wegman’s. That place is magic. My mom grew up with the family and they were so wealthy they had mini rides in their yard.. like a roller coaster. Upstate NY, y’all.
It’s nice when you can make a decision about plans and feel like a weight is off your shoulders! I’ll be in NJ for the holiday!

Literally I fell asleep typing my message out to you last night…. DOH.
Your lack of shovel made me laugh – the things you overlook when moving, eh? Lol I’m sure it won’t be the first or last thing you don’t have and then you’ll have to improvise and/or scramble.
Love that pic of Bryan and Buster. And yes his left arm looks so naked. I’m bracing myself for a long shitty winter in terms of driving. And watching out for idiots on the road.
Love you momma bear. xoxox
