Because when I get together with my girlfriends, we often look like sister wives.
Also, does this photo creep anyone else out, or just me?
Wow, it’s dusty in here. You leave the blog for eight days and it’s crazy how big the tumbleweeds grow.
Anyhoo, I’m back!
Did y’all miss me? Because I missed you much! I had a lot of really ambitious ideas for what I’d do with my time off—read all the books, write all the blog posts, get caught up on comments/blog reading, start a series of children’s books about our dog Buster, watch a full Netflix series, call all of my friends, etc. Guess what I got accomplished? Big fat goose egg, you guys. My fibroid surgery was Wednesday evening (that night I discovered morphine), Thursday and Friday were filled with Percocet and pain and I didn’t get to leave the hospital until Friday afternoon.
It’s all a bit hazy. I’m feeling much better now, but a bit depressed if I’m being honest, which I’m sure is natural, considering this all happened so quickly. That said, I’ve made a lot of improvements over the past few days (walking in particular) and I’m only taking Motrin for pain now, so all of these things are huge wins and I have to be patient with my body for healing in its own time.
This past weekend, my bestie and her girlfriend helped Bryan and I clear out our stuff from storage (well, I didn’t really “help” much). We were both so appreciative of their muscle and truck and it made me think of how many times this girl has come through for me in the past and how lucky I am to be surrounded by so many incredibly loving and supportive friends and family members. HOLY RUN-ON SENTENCE, BATMAN. Anyway, I really am. Thank you, schmee schmoo <3
Also I appreciate the friend who sent me into surgery with a uterus pillow, the friend who makes me laugh with text messages about butt doctors, the friends who check in, and the ones who remember I’m still alive. I know it’s the oldest damn cliché in the book, but friendships are the best medicine for the soul.
Hope everyone is having a great week, and sending all my love to you! Tell me what’s new in your worlds, sweet ones, and can’t wait to catch up with you all individually. XO
