One of my dearest blog friends Lecy of A Simpler Grace started a coffee-related blog prompt, which is perfect because it allows me to unravel my weird here and I can blame too much caffeine.
Let’s get started!
If you and I had coffee…
I’d let you peruse the menu as long as you need, because I understand how important it is to make the right selection. I’d also tell you how disappointed I was to sit in a Le Pain Quotidien on 69th street yesterday craving a matcha latte but getting a decaf coffee instead because they were out. Whomp whomp.
I’d ask you to look at pictures of my dog because he is so friggin’ cute and you need to see them. I’m hoping you’ll share pictures of your dog with me, too.
I’d let you in on a little secret that’s maybe a big secret because I have a big mouth and am not to be trusted.
I’d want to hear about your travels in hopes of living vicariously and of also getting out there myself sooner rather than later.
I’d ask you what you are reading and I’d tell you my favorite (The Woman in Cabin 10) and least favorite (I Don’t Know How She Does It) books of 2018 so far.
I’d tell you how sad I am about the passing of certain friendships. Though I have tried on numerous occasions to breathe life and resurrect them, friendships can never be one-sided, and sometimes it’s better to walk away.
But it still makes me sad.
I’d ask you why bad things happen to good people. A blogger I follow on Instagram who lives in Hoboken recently found out during her 8th or 9th month of pregnancy that she lost her baby. This hurts my heart for her. So very much 🙁
I’d also want to know why some people feel the need to ride out a storm like upcoming Florence. I understand sometimes options aren’t available, but when evacuation is mandatory, why risk your personal safety?
I’d tell you that Bethenny Frankel just launched a line of skinny jeans and they look ADORABLE, but is $100 too much to spend on a pair of jeans?
If you and I had coffee you’d see in my eyes that I want a pair and you’d just tell me to get them because friends sometimes encourage each other to make bad financial decisions.
I did too much talking this time. Before we part, I need to hear all the things about you and can we get another coffee date nailed down soon? This was fun.

I’d look at all the pictures of your dog because I freaking love your dog! And I’d definitely ask you to spill your secrets because I know how hard it is to keep them in sometimes. I’d commiserate with you on the passing of friendships, telling you I’ve been there and completely understand but that sometimes it’s truly for the best. I’d cry about your friend but then I’d totally perk up and talk jeans with you, and that yes, for the best fitting jeans that make you feel amazing, maybe $100 is worth at least one pair. Then I’d hug you and ask to do it again soon! XOXO
Yes, conversations like this are fun. I had the pleasure of a real one with you a century ago. I know what you mean about friendships disappearing despite our effort to “breathe life” into them.
Yes, I LOVE giving you an excuse to unravel your weird! There is nothing worse than going to a coffee shop or restaurant, planning to have something, and finding out that it isn’t available. I’m with you about the concern over people not evacuating from the hurricane path. That is super scary and wind and water can both be so dangerous. I am loving Bethenny’s jeans. Let’s be real – I love everything she creates. She is definitely a business role model for me. My heart breaks for your friend. It’s never easy to lose a baby, but being so close to that finish line is just awful. I’m glad you were able to join the coffee date this month! Hope to see you next time. 🙂
$100 for jeans actually isn’t terrible. More like mid-level?
I want to know your secret! And of course I’d show you photos of my dogs! You showed Scarlet photos of your dog the first time you met her!
Girl I hope you’re little but big secret is that you’re preggers! <3
No, $100 is not too much for a good pair of jeans that look dynamite. 😉
I will totally keep your secrets girl. 😉 Just let it out!
And I’m also very much down for looking at pictures of your dog. I’m sure I’ll have plenty of mine to share too, but be warned they are usually of her sleeping…because she’s adorable when she sleeps! LOL
$100 for a good pair of jeans isn’t too bad actually! I mean, it’s a lot, but hopefully it just means they will last awhile and I’ve seen some clothes WAY more than that.

Yeah, why do bad things happen to good people? That’s what I wanna know. I know too many freakin’ examples 🙁
I would totally look at your dog pics, because I was also show you mine! And the cats, too since they’re such goofballs. And travel pics!
I don’t understand why people don’t evacuate, either. The other people have to risk their lives to save them! Sheesh.
