I had lofty plans of getting this post published yesterday because the first week of June is already slip sliding away, but well… you win some, you lose some, right? I hope this isn’t a precursor of what’s to come this month, because I’ve got plans, yo. But before I get ahead of myself, let’s have a look back at what was to see how we did during the month of May:
- Use my planner. I have neglected it because other shinier and prettier models came around. Truth be told, I’m really excited to use the Panda, but I need to finish up the year with my Day Designer because I hate wasting money on something I’m not actively using. If you use this one, please let me know how you fill in the pages. I feel like so much space is wasted. Note to self: invest in a smaller size next time – I have and I did. I’m still not filling up the pages like I’d like but I would feel lost without it so I feel better about the Day Designer in general
- Enjoy the house hunting journey. I need to write this on a chalkboard over and over again a la Bart Simpson so it sticks – this one is kind of a work in progress for me. The opportunity to move to the apartment downstairs kind of materialized in front of us, but I can’t say I’m really enjoying the house hunting any more. BUT! We are going to see a home on Wednesday that I’m SUPER excited about, and I’m hoping it checks off enough boxes for Bryan, too. Fingers crossed!
- Discover new music. I was just talking about this with a coworker—the thrill of new music is gone since the age of digital and I’d like to bring that back again. Do you have anything to recommend? Let me know in the comments! – Gah! No! I mean, I have been enjoying new Florence and the Machine and some other things I have heard on the radio, but not really anything new to me. Send me suggestions!
- Pitch course! DO IT!! – OMG, EPIC FAIL.
I won’t get down on myself because I feel as though I could have done better. it means I have things to improve on! Right? Right.
Here are some things I’d like to accomplish in June:
Learn / Grow
Do something nice for someone, unprovoked
Spend more time writing
Get in a creative headspace—take longer walks, visit new environments, step outside of my comfort zone
And because I casually talked about slip sliding away, I end with a line from Paul Simon that always seems to hit me in the feels.
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away
Don’t forget to link up with us, and share your goals below! Happy June, everyone!!
