Despite some personal hiccups, it’s been a pretty good week. A shopping cart careened into the side of my car and left a mark which I hope won’t be a biggie when I turn it in this fall. It rained. A lot. It was kind of depressing and I was starting to miss fresh air and decent hair days. Bryan and I couldn’t come to terms on homes we saw last weekend and our deadline to resign our lease is coming up in less than two weeks. I lost power and have been stealing internet and upping my data charges but there have been a lot of positives so let’s switch gears and think about those, shall we?
Dog sitting this little guy. This is my parent’s dog Pedro and he is such a funny little muppet
Hibachi with girlfriends. After dinner they asked to see a photo of aforementioned Pedro, and we all burst into hysterics. I mean, look at that face!
Celebrating Mother’s Day at a 50s-style diner
Texting with Tamara. We exchanged phone numbers at a work event in Albany several weeks ago and texting her makes my heart explode
Also texts from Buster’s mommy. We always tell funny stories about how silly he is. He’s old and crabby, and clearly the love of our lives
Being approachable; I used to think this was a bad thing, but I’m realizing having a personality that invites people in can be a good thing! I love connecting and meeting new people (but yes, sometimes I just need to go sit in the corner and recharge and don’t judge me for it)
Rain reprieve. It was lovely to go for a walk in the park, see an egret (not a pelican; thank you, friend, for correcting me)
Rediscovering John Prine in the car. Have you ever listened to his song “Let’s Talk Dirty in Hawaiian”? You really should. And also “That’s the Way that the World Goes ‘Round”
A heartfelt apology. I was startled by an email I received earlier this week, but the sender reached out to me the next morning to say that we should have spoken first, and it meant a great deal
