Flower crowns are everywhere these days–at weddings, beach outings, and even spring parties. They are a perfect (and affordable) fashion accessory and can be personalized any way you like. Flower crowns look best when they are made with natural flowers, and they are easy to make at home with some floral supplies and the right techniques.
Making flower crowns can be a fun activity with friends during a get-together. Just buy some wholesale flowers online to get the party started, and use this step-by-step guide to make your own!
Step 1- Get the floral supplies
This is very easy with the right supplies! Scotch tape and glue can work in attaching the strings, but if you use floral tape, the work is much more convenient. You can buy wholesale flowers and other floral supplies online or go to a nearby local shop to get them.
- Floral wire cutters
- Floral wire
- Fresh flowers
- Floral tape
- Oasis wire
Step 2- Cut the oasis wire
The first task is to cut the oasis wire according to the size of your head. Circle the wire and put it over your head to get the right measurement. Then trim the unnecessary strings with scissors or pruners.
Step 3- Create loops with floral wire
You’ll need to create tight loops with the floral wire where you will attach the flowers. Wrap around three to four times according to the width of the wire. Create a small knot and finish the loop. If you have difficulty while making the knots, you can attach it with small floral strings. Make four to five separate loops with wire of similar size and shape.
Step 4- Attach flowers on the wire
Here’s where it gets interesting. Use your creativity and attach the flowers of your choice in the loop. Before attaching flowers, place them on your head and look in the mirror. Check to make sure the flowers go well with your hair color. The cheat code here is to attach a single colored flower (purple, orange, red, white) along with green leaves or baby’s breath.
Use floral tape and attach the flowers to make it firm. You can use thin strings as well if the flowers are too fragile. However, it is best to use resilient flowers for your crown.
Step 5- Create more flower loops
Repeat step 4 to create similar loops. Attach flowers in the same way in other remaining loops that you made in step 3. You can use the same flowers or different ones according to the design you have made up in your mind. Four to five loops should be enough for your floral crown.
Once you have four to five loops of string attached with flowers, take a transparent tape and attach the loops in a single string or ribbon. Make sure the ribbon is color coordinated with your choice of flowers. Loosely attach it so that the flowers look natural and are held in a good position. Arrange the flower loops by keeping the larger flowers in the side or middle according to the structure of your face.
Step 6- Attach the wire with floral loops with the oasis wire
Remember the oasis wire that you cut in step 2? It’s time to use it! Use floral tape to attach the string of multiple flower loops made in step 5 with the strong oasis wire. And that’s it; you have yourself a nice flower crown in just few simple steps!
Step 7- Share your work
Take some pictures of the wonderful piece of art you’ve just created and share it with friends and family on social media.
Can’t wait to see your beautiful floral crowns, you beautiful goddess!
