January goals

– Posted in: featured

A bit late to the party, but hope I’m still fashionable 🙂 How is everyone’s month so far, and did everyone have a nice weekend? It was pretty slow/quiet on my end; we had another cold blast in the Northeast so I tried to limit my time outdoors (I’m also still recovering from a cold) but I did some grocery shopping/meal planning, blog post writing, reading, TV viewing, doggy snuggling, and managed to give myself a pedicure. Temps will resume back to normal starting this week and it’ll be good to see double digits again (30 degrees! Feels like a heat wave, ha!).

But you’re not here to talk about the weather, I don’t think. Let’s see how we did in December!

Read as many books as possible – eh. I read two; Diary of a Beautiful Disaster by Kristin Bartzokis which I didn’t enjoy as much as I thought I would and Made for Love by Alissa Nutting which was also just so-so for me
See friends frequently – did this! Phish and dinners; phone conversations and texts with friends I wasn’t able to see in person
Practice more yoga/mindful meditation – halfsies. I did practice more mindfulness, but not enough yoga

Examine options for growth in the new year. – spent a large portion of break thinking about my job and where it’s heading and I’m determined to learn all I can about influencer marketing in 2018

Put aside $400 for house fund – I’ve been selling some things in Facebook groups and have hustled for freelance gigs, but alas all the money went to paying off bills and Christmas

Spread cheer to friends and anyone in need of a pick-me-up (this time of year can do things to people) – this was a biggie and I tried to do this as often as possible <3
Continue the house search – yes, but coming up empty
Play Christmas music and do holiday things – heck yea!

Not terrible, I suppose but I’d definitely love to improve on this in January.

January goals

Use my crockpot more frequently and cook at least two meals a week

Start the new e-course I enrolled in (about newsletter marketing) and purchase at least one more course about pitching to brands. This month, I learn!

No more slacking—we need to put money aside for home. Set aside $400. No excuses!

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. What’s on your list of goals this month, sweet ones? I look forward to reading! XOXO

Hello darling! You read more than I did in December – two books to my big fat zero. So that’s something! I am hoping you find your perfect home soon! I know it will happen for you this year, I have a feeling! As for the weather, we’re actually thawing out a little bit here, so perhaps that weather is heading your way? Love you! XO

Today is 27 here and it feels like magic, like you said.
I feel like 2017 was my Influencer Marketing crazy year of learning. The page views still confound me but if you build it, they will come!
I want to make a goal to be better about keeping in touch with friends!

I definitely need to get committed to my financial goals as well. It’s so challenging (on so many levels). Good luck to you!

I think you did pretty good in December… if you just keep plugging along, the goals are within your reach so soon! Crossing my fingers for more luck on the house hunt!

I think you did pretty fantastic in December. Spreading cheer and seeing friends seems like the most important, and you did it a ton. I’m totally with you on saving money this month…or actually trying not to spend any. My bills are a little out of control from Christmas, so it’s only the absolute necessities this month. Have a fabulous week! XXXOOO

The crockpot is awesome! I love making soups in it during winter 🙂

I think you did well in December, and best of luck on all of your January goals! I do want to find more opportunities to grow the blog so that I can hopefully make more money from it. I’m still on the hunt for a full time job, so any extra bit would be amazing right about now! I hope your courses teach you a lot!!

Keep saving! You can do it! January is a hard time to look for houses. Only people who have to move are probably listing their houses. But there aren’t many people looking either so you might just find the perfect one!

Why don’t I use my crockpot ever?? It’s so easy! We should have a round-up of crock pot recipes!

You did great in December! Wishing you all the best for January.
Good luck with the house hunting and enjoy your online course.

I have to admit I am still not sure about my January (or 2018) goals.. I have so many things in my mind at the moment, I really have to sit down and try to figure things out.

Sheryl January 9, 2018, 8:13 AM

Focusing upon Influencer marketing is on my list for 2018 – I’ve not really focused upon it. Isn’t it hilarious when we consider the 30’s warm weather? I think you accomplished a lot in December and January looks to be great too.

Cara January 9, 2018, 8:41 AM

That’s how it always goes when you’re saving money… something always needs it! My husband literally hides money under our mattress when he is trying to save up for something. His theory is that if we can’t see it, we can’t “borrow” from it for something else. Makes me laugh every laundry day and bills come fluttering out as I unmake the bed. Good luck with your goals!

Divya January 9, 2018, 9:29 AM

oooooo, I need to pull out my crockpot and use it too! Maybe we should have a thread in PP with recipe exchange, haha. I need motivation during the winter!

Karen January 9, 2018, 10:55 AM

You’re not until it’s February! lol
I just want whatever I do for fun to feel FUN. I don’t want my hobbies to be stressful.
I want to maybe read less – but read more varied. Check out genres that are new to me.
I need to actually use the new bikes we bought for Christmas and while I’m good at working out at least a few minutes a day – I need to stretch do yoga more.

Good luck with all your goals Charlotte!

Write. Write and write some more. That’s about it. So far, not too bad although admittedly slacking today. Good for you on your December goals and January looks great too, Charlotte. You’re always an inspiration to me.

Aleksandra January 15, 2018, 4:29 PM

hi Lisa,
i have a question. Does that help to make a plan ? how do you motivate yourself to do things in the list? it’s my biggest problem

Lindsay January 15, 2018, 6:12 PM

I feel like you’ll knock these goals out of the park. 🙂 Good for you for devoting the month to learning. I should/need to do that, I just don’t make time. Let me know how it goes and if it’s worthwhile, too. I’d be interested in it if you found it beneficial. 🙂
Love you babe. xoxoxo
