Prepping for the holidays with Babbleboxx

This little pixie attended a fancy schmancy holiday preview blogger event the other night and a few things miraculously didn’t happen:

  • I didn’t trip down stairs (there were three levels AND I was wearing heels!)
  • I managed to keep my dress free of food/drink and
  • I mingled and schmoozed and didn’t worry about my carriage turning into a pumpkin

I love these events and don’t go to them nearly enough but if I had to pick just one for the year, I’d always opt for one hosted by the fabulous women at Babbleboxx. This event, which took place on Tuesday, 11/14 at the 404 NYC was no exception.

I met my wonderful blog friend outside the entrance as I was unpacking my heels from my oversized purse (fancy). I was thankful to have her as a date, so we could catch up, meet some fabulous vendors, and admire the shoe case.

There were some incredible brands on hand at the event, many I’d heard of previously and some that were new to me, which is fun, because it gives me ideas for the holidays. Walking around the event space, I started playing gift matchmaker in my head, and found some items that would be perfect stocking stuffers and presents this season.

“Oh, my god—I’ve always wanted to do this but I’ve only ever given a DNA kit to my dog!”

Yes, this was my opening line to the wonderful woman at the 23andMe booth, who humored me and also gave me a full rundown on the company and what differentiates it from other DNA tests on the market. I was impressed—a simple spit test can say a lot about your genetic makeup, family history, and even health factors and conditions. This kit will trace your lineage to help you determine who you are and where you come from—simply mail it back to the lab in the prepaid postage kit it comes in and you’ll get results in 6-8 weeks. What a wonderful and priceless gift!

I heard the word “vegan” and all of a sudden, I was in a chair getting stuff put on my face (true story). Their Genius Liquid Collagen helps to restore your skin’s bounce and resilience in just 10 days. Also? It kind of smells delicious and it makes your face look like this:

I’m really excited to try the sample I was given, so I can see the results after a few days—because who doesn’t want to have young, fresh skin? I didn’t realize that your skin’s collagen can begin to break down in your early 20s and now that I’m knocking on the door of 40 (ahem), it’s certainly something I want to begin adding to my daily beauty routine.

The liquid collagen I tried is the first-ever vegan collagen formulation and contains more than 13,000 beads of Microalgae Oil in every bottle to hydrate, nourish, and visibly restore skin’s radiance. I love that it’s completely animal friendly and just as effective as the animal-derived collagen equivalent.

If you click here and enter code LOVECOLLAGEN you’ll receive a FREE sample of GENIUS Liquid Collagen ($16 value) on orders over $75 (offer valid through 12/31).

One of my favorite pieces of swag (which coincidentally one of the other guests at the event told me about) was this tiny little unassuming nothing.

Except it’s actually a pretty big deal.

You can use this to refill ANY perfume and it carries up to 90 spritzes—no more schlepping heavy perfume bottles on vacation or going to Sephora to stock up on samples (am I the only one who does this?!).

Perfumania has more than 150 retail locations and an online store with deep discounts on designer perfume brands like Jimmy Choo, Dolce & Gabbana, YSL, Mont Blanc, etc. This is some serious one-stop shopping for last-minute holiday gifts. I love that they have “fragrance consultants” to help you locate hard to find fragrances or to match you up with your new favorite scent. Also they have some incredible deals coming up for the holidays–over Black Friday weekend, you can stock up on fragrance mists (5 for $20) and on Cyber Monday select items will be 50% off PLUS FREE SHIPPING, no minimum. Boom, and you’re welcome 🙂

Grande Cosmetics

Did you know that mascara has the shortest lifespan of all beauty products? I noticed as I was getting ready for the event that my ol’ standby tube had seen better days. My lashes were clumpy, which is definitely NOT the look I was going for.

Grande Cosmetics has two products in their beauty line that can up your brow and lash game and inspire your holiday beauty. Their revolutionary lash-enhancing serum promotes stronger, thicker-looking eyelashes in as little as 4-6 weeks (full results in three months). They also have a GrandeBROW serum to enhance your eyebrows, but I think what I’m most looking forward to is their GrandeLIPS which works in just 3-5 minutes to increase hydration, volume, softness, and firmness of lips.

Tea Forte

I’m very familiar with this brand because I wrote about them in my January BabbleBoxx. I devoured their teas then and I’m certain I will enjoy every sip of their festive 2017 Limited Edition Holiday Collection. Featuring blends like Spiced Ginger Plum, Rum Raisin Biscotti, Raspberry Ganache (are you drooling yet?), Winter Chai, and Ginger Snap, Tea Forte is just what we need to slow down during a hectic season. I love gifting teas for the holidays. It’s a small indulgence that says to the recipient “you are important and I hope you take care of yourself.” At least, that’s my interpretation 🙂

Click here to check out their holiday tea blends, and take care of some of the loved ones on your holiday list.

I want to give a very special shout out to Earth Brands and Cinzano as well as Christmas Central, who provided the stunning and festive décor at the event!

This looks like it was such a fun event! All of the items you got to check out look so neat! My in-laws did the 23 and Me thing a couple of years ago and thought it was pretty cool. I’m loving all that sparkly pink decor too! Glad you had a good time!

Looks like a great event – and I’m bitter that I didn’t know about it because I was actually in Brooklyn, if you can believe it! I could have been there, dagnabit. That little perfume diffuser is adorable. Glad you had fun!

How fun is this! I wish I knew about blogger events in my area. I feel like with a city like Cincinnati, there HAS to be things going on, but I have no idea. I’ve never been invited to anything fun. lol I’m glad you had a great time though and got to go with a friend (even better!)

Wow! I’m super jealous. Looks like a fabulous event! And so many great products. I want them all for myself, but they would definitely make some great gifts. That tea sounds amazing!
