What’s up, weekend 12/22

– Posted in: featured

YOU GUYS. Christmas is three days away. Or, for my Euro friends, t-minus two days until Santa eats all of the cookies!

Most of the gifts are wrapped. The tree is decorated. I heard some Christmas songs on the radio this morning and I’m slowly getting into the spirit of the season. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s a rainy and mildly depressing day here in New Jersey, but someone needs to spike my vegan eggnog. Stat.

Related: how is eggnog anyway? I don’t think I’ve ever had it before, because I’m not sure I’m down with drinking eggs.

Discuss.

Today is our time to be grateful, and if this is your first time stopping by—welcome! Each Friday, Lindsay, Beth, and I link up to share our highlights from the week. It’s a wonderful exercise in gratitude and one that I’ve come to really look forward to each week. Don’t forget to share your gratitude by linking up — hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and holiday ahead!!! <3

Here’s this week’s grateful list (which is very holiday-centric!):

Sushi, wine, and a qvetsch session with my girlfriends in Hoboken last night

Texting with besties

Lighting candles for Hanukkah and spending time with family in the city

Getting Christmas cards in the mail

This adorable little bird (from Target)–isn’t he dapper??

Holiday decorations around town

THIS VIDEO (which legit left me in a puddle of snot and feels the other day. SO sweet. I just love me some Ed Sheeran).

Christmas accidentally coming early this year. I received a package the other day and didn’t know what it was so I opened it with pomp and circumstance in front of Bryan (“OOOOOH! WHAT’S IN THE BOX?!?”) and it TURNED OUT TO BE THE CHRISTMAS GIFT I BOUGHT FOR HIM (facepalm). He kept staring at me, waiting for a reaction while I was like, “WHAT IS THIS?!” Anyway, then we did our gift exchange and I got this GORGEOUS Gunas handbag (all vegan!). Thank you, Bryan! Also, No animals harmed in the name of GUNAS New York fashion! (*click the link to see their incredible handbags)

Oh too funny about accidentally opening Bryan’s Christmas present in front of him! That sounds so much like something I would do! The new bag you got is beautiful! And I will say I’m not much for egg nog. I just don’t understand it. We did make some homemade one year (with pasturized eggs trying to be safe) and it was decent but overall not my thang.

Merry Christmas my sweet! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. XOXO

I LOVE your bag. I love blue and I love blue purses and I am officially jealous. I am definitely clicking on that link as soon as I finish this comment. Are you familiar with Haiku bags? They are a casual brand but they don’t use leather and make most of their bags out of recycled bottles. I have several of their bags and they last forever. It’s a great brand.

Eggnog has always kind of grossed me out but my husband loves it. He really likes eggnog lattes from Starbucks. My grandfather used to make eggnog and spike it with liquor so we called it rumnog.

I love that dapper bird!!! And that purse is gorgeous!!!! Too funny that you opened the gift by accident. I’m trying with all my might to get in the holiday spirit, but I think I may need some spiked something. Egg nog is gross! The Happiest of Holidays to you! XXXOOO

Aw, sorry you opened Bryan’s gift with him right there! LOL But your bag is gorgeous – I’m loving the color. And the little bird is too cute.

I ADORE Ed Sheeran. I need to watch that video.

I love Ed too and that music video is one of my new favorites. Gah! So sweet. How adorable is that bird?! I love it! I am a big fan of spiked eggnog. I had it the first time a couple of years ago at a work party and love it. Like a milkshake. 🙂

I’m laughing at your package mishap. We’ve had a dozen boxes arrive recently and that could easily have happened here too. Smile and laugh about it. Happy holidays!

Hahaha, I totally would do something like that. I order things and then forget about them all.the.time.
Eggnog is delicious, but super rich. I prefer it with a little whiskey. That bag he got you is adorable! Merry Christmas, friend!!

I was going to try eggnog this year and report back, but I lost my nerve!
The bird from Target is REALLY adorable.
I got a vegan bag myself!
