Aflame card game—review and giveaway

Unless you have defied incredible odds in your relationship (in which case, good for you!), chances are you’ll want to spice things up with your partner every now and then. I used to think this was a bad thing, until I realized that finding your partner is just the beginning; sustaining that partnership requires a lifetime. Challenging each other, exciting each other, understanding each other—these are only a few keys to a happy and healthy long-term commitment.

For those of you looking to ignite some passion into your relationships, I have just the thing!

I was recently contacted by the folks behind Aflame, a unique relationship card game designed to ignite your passion. I was sold as soon as I read their objective online:

This game was thoughtfully and carefully created by a loving couple for couples. That is why it heavily focuses on mutual trust and gentleness to each other. It doesn’t force people to do what they don’t want to do. Instead, the game helps illuminate the contours of people’s own unique styles so they can improvise and enjoy.

The purpose is clearly outlined as bringing a couple closer together—physically, emotionally, sexually.

At random, I picked a card out of the deck because I wanted to see what the game was all about. Here’s how it begins:

“Create a relaxing bath for your partner using foam, special aroma oils, herbs, or just plain water to provide a perfect view—absolutely natural and beautiful.”

I really loved the sentiment here. In many ways, the game focuses on bringing simplicity into a relationship—by paying attention to each other in a unique and interesting way. No takeout and Netflixing. I mean, you can do that, too, after you play 🙂 But the fun here really is in stepping outside of the comfort zone to try something a little different.

I am actually in love with this idea! It’s so hard (especially as parents, not going to lie) to make time for some of the more intimate things in our relationship, and I’m not just talking physically. We need that emotional connection too. So anyway, I’d love to check this out to ignite that spark!

I’m not in a relationship, but I do like the idea behind this. The longer you’re with someone, I’m sure the easier it is to sort of start ignoring them. It’s a good idea to do something different sometimes.

This looks really fun, Charlotte. Nice idea. Even though our relationship might be strong, we sometimes get busy with ‘life’ and forget to take time to really woo our love. Great post!

This sounds like a cool game just for the fact that it will give you unique and new ideas to try! We always do the same things: watch movies, go to lunch, etc. I like the idea of trying something different.
