The world is becoming a very scary place. I say this not because I want to take away from the weekly gratitude practice, but I want to acknowledge why it’s so crucial to turn off social media, to give thanks for the good, and to ruminate on ways that we can all make life just a little bit brighter, regardless of what that might look like. Maybe we spend some time with animals, pay a visit to the elderly, return a phone call to a long-lost friend, or send a card to a family member… just because.
Humanity needs us now more than ever.
And with that, let’s dive into the happy thoughts from the week, shall we? Don’t forget to add your relevant blog posts below and link up with Lindsay and Beth—let us know what’s making you sparkle!
A trip to Warwick and the winery to pick up some bottles of Riesling
Spending time with Bryan’s sister/my brother, both in town the same week
Watermelon feta salad from Panera (my new favorite combo)
Finishing season one of Game of Thrones (the dragons have arrived!!)
Not needing emergency laser eye surgery after all
That catchy Feels song by Katy Perry, Pharrel, Big Sean, and Calvin Harris
Buster. Poor thing had to go to the vet to drain a hematoma (he’s fine, but we’re really hoping he doesn’t need surgery). He’s been MILIKING IT for all the cheese in the apartment. And we can’t stop calling him a unicorn. Doesn’t he look like he’s wearing a party hat?

Don’t forget to enter the Confused Girl LA giveaway now! SO many cute activewear items available, all inspired by nature’s crystals <3
Also! If you’ve ever considered testing your dog’s DNA (like I did with Buster!), you must read this–it features a comparison chart of the major kits on the market and what to expect from each. It might seem like a frivolous thing to do but you’d be surprised by the wealth of information a DNA kit can provide—and most importantly, it could save a dog’s life. Understanding your breed and providing targeted care is paramount to the health of your pet. And that’s really all that matters, right?
Wishing you all a lovely weekend, my sweet ones. Catch ya on the flipside! *MUAH!*

Tina Fey is my spirit animal. I loved that video. And poor Buster. I feel so bad for him, but I also chuckle at the Unicorn nickname too. I’m glad you didn’t need eye surgery, that sounds kind of scary. And man, I’m with you. We need to spread love and kindness anywhere we can. <3 <3 XOXO

I know Beth just said this – but Tina Fey is also my spirit animal. When she was doing Sarah Palin, I dressed up as Tina doing Sarah for Halloween! Anyway, thank you for sharing this because I didn’t get to see it last night. Also, yea for a good week. Can I just say Buster’s little face makes me laugh – of course he is milking it. Bless his heart! Here’s to a great weekend my friend!! XOXO

Happy weekend, Charlotte. Sorry that Buster is under the weather. All else is good stuff though and you’re right, we have to focus on the good right now.

Hey momma,
I’m obsessed with that limey-coloured door. It’s loud but I’m loving the pop of colour!
You’re quite right about living in a scary, crazy world. I’ve tried so hard this year to take more of a step back on social media and I’m trying not to read the news as much. It’s just so friggin depressing, there’s hardly ever any positive or happy news, you know?
Girl, what the heck happened to your eye to warrant possibly having to get laser surgery?!! Did you scratch it or something with your cornea?! Jesus murphy, I hope its nothing.
Those pics of Buster are precious and make me pout. Keep me posted on him and I hope he’s doing already. And you. Sending lots of hugs my dear.
Have a great hump day! 🙂

P.S. That infographic on the DNA kits is pretty cool (and informative). Definitely the Mars one looks the best.
