I’d like to thank Neely of It Starts with Coffee for the inspiration for today’s blog post. If you’re ever stuck on something to write about, I highly recommend her extensive list of blog post ideas (105 of them, in fact!). Also I’ve been making it a point to pin blog topics and prompts to this board on Pinterest (would love to have you follow along!).
Here’s my list of guilty pleasures (though for the record, I feel no guilt or shame in any of these). I had every intention of making this a dirty dozen list, but I don’t think my brain has turned on yet. Sorrynotsorry.
All things Bachelor. I am a very proud card-carrying member of Bachelor Nation. From gossip sites to trashy magazines that detail the scandalous romps, I eat it all up. Sue me.
A vegan Butterfinger smoothie from Terri NYC. I always try to find an excuse to swing by 23rd Street if I’m in the city for one of their delectable sandwiches or smoothies
A tall glass of white wine after a long day (preferably Riesling in honor of my German roots, but I’ll never turn down a Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay). Also when I’m out in public, I like to order a Pinot Grigio, and my girlfriend calls me Ramona (Real Housewives reference)
Listening to obnoxious pop music when I’m all alone or driving. Think: Miley, Taylor, Kesha. You know, the stuff I’d never be caught dead listening to in the real world.
Girl Scouts thin mints cookies. A sleeve in a sitting, you guys.
Reading Young Adult fiction.
I think that’s enough embarrassment for one day 🙂 What’s on your guilty pleasure list?
Susan @ Culinary Envy says
I’ll join you for a tall glass of wine and we’ll watch the upcoming Bachelorette!
Neely Moldovan says
YES! All things Bachelor! Bachelor IN Paradise is my fav!
Katie says
The only way to eat thin mints is a whole sleeve in a sitting! Lol!
Chastity says
Yes, great post idea! I agree with the wine it’s always a wonderful guilty pleasure to not pass up. Thanks for sharing your fun pleasures ??

I listen to pop almost exclusively when I’m commuting. Chris especially loves it when she lets me control the radio when we’re driving and I started singing along (*sarcasm*)! And nothing wrong with YA fiction. That’s what I turn to between psychological thrillers!
Eli@CoachDaddy says
1. A sleeve is a serving size. Why else would they put all those cookies in it?
2. Kesha and I were in love at one point.
3. Did you know I had a moment with Emily Maynard? (This is actually more solid than my Kesha claim.)

So did you peak at my guilty pleasure list cause I’m pretty sure this is mine, minus like 1 thing. So I never watched The Bachelor in my life until 2 years ago with my bestie who was obsessed. I did not watch Nick’s season though because, well he’s a jerk.
I also enjoy blasting obnoxious pop music from my high school days. I used to also have a thing for Canadian pop singers. Ohh the shame! Not.
I love, love YA books. I think they are pretty much all I read minus the inspirational/self help books I’ve gotten into over the past year.
I live in the finger lakes, so I can usually find myself an amazing Riesling. Also my drink of choice. I actually got married at a winery based on the Riesling they made!
Such a great list! I hope you have a great rest of your week!

Oh I love this! I did a guilty pleasure list a long time ago but I should update it. I enjoy young adult fiction every now and then too, sometimes it’s a faster read and I like that about it! And Thin Mint cookies. Girrrrrrl. I can hardly even have them in my house! And I love the girly pop music too, Gaga is my latest obsession.

I’ve been really impressed that my Thin Mints have lasted as long as they have! We keep them in a freezer and I eat one (not anymore than one!) a night. It’s my little indulgence (even though I’m doing a 21-day fix. I think a teeny tiny thin mint isn’t going to kill anyone!)
Lindsay says
We might be soul sisters except for the whole bachelor thing lol but the Riesling and the young adult fiction are some of my guilty pleasures!
Kim says
Thin mints are the best!!! I always put them in the freezer. Sadly, I didn’t get any this year.

Great list, Charlotte. I also enjoy some of Taylor Swift songs (Style). Ummm, white wine indeed, one of my favorites. Do you like Gewurz? I believe that is also a German grape 🙂 Delicious, ice cold in summer. K—I have no clue about the Bachelor stuff but it sounds fun!

Thanks for sharing the blog idea list. I have to bookmark it. Usually when I don’t blog regularly, it’s less because of writer’s block and more because of not having any time to sit down and write.
But I loved your list of guilty pleasures. Everybody should have at least a few! 😉
Julie says
I love pop music and wine but The Bachelor is my true guilty pleasure!!!
ShootingStarsMag says
Oh, Girl Scout cookies are the best. Thin Mints and Tagalongs are my favorite. I also read YA, but that’s not even a guilty pleasure really because I blog about it all the time. LOL

No need for you to ever feel guilt for things that bring you pleasure, entertainment, and/or happiness!
I think this is a fun list 🙂

Love this! I’m totally part of Bachelor Nation too. I can’t wait for Bachelor in Paradise. I actually like that better than the regular show. I could totally go for a glass of wine right now, but I’m super sleepy. So, I’ll be having a few during book club tomorrow night 😉 My guilty pleasure lately is the Vampire Diaries on Netflix. I can’t stop watching it. I need an intervention 😉
Dominique says
Mmmmm Pino Grigio, I miss it so much right now (along with my other favourite wines)! I can relate to a few of those guilty pleasures, I think one of mine is probably singing along at the top of my lungs to pop songs in the car, but… I don’t feel guilty about it either 😉
Tamara says
I love YA fiction. Always have. Always will.
I like Girl Scout Cookies but I can’t eat more than two in one sitting. So maybe I need to try Thin Mints because they’re thinner, and therefore, less filling? Yes.
Ok, guilty pleasures for me. Beach reads. Shows on The CW and ABC. Cookie dough ice cream. Coffee with whipped cream.
Bashfully Bold says
I am working my way through The Gilmore Girls and watch it in the bath with a glass of wine. Heaven!
Lianne says
I also really love young adult fiction! And if it’s a story of the vampire variety even better ?

I love this. But I have to admit, I have never watched a whole episode of The Batchelor in my life. I did just binge watch I Zombie and When Calls the heart. And can blow through a military romance in a days time. LOL
Akaleistar says
A vegan Butterfinger smoothie sounds really good, and I love YA fiction 🙂
Anthea says
Lovely post! I’m glad you feel no guilt for guilty pleasures because life is too short!
My guilty pleasure is a cup of tea first thing in the morning (sometimes with honey) while I read a book at my desk. I get to work very early to beat traffic.
The other is a crisp glass of wine after a long day while hubby and I sit outside in the garden.
Shannon says
That smoothie omg! Love this list Charlotte and this idea for the blog post too- will def be checking out her blog post list.
