Friday linky 2/23

– Posted in: featured

This week was kind of a blur. I was filling in for a coworker and trying to play catch up on my own projects and work and I’m not sure how we made it to Friday but HAPPY WEEKEND! Definitely looking forward to it, because we get our boy Buster back on Sunday! I always miss him when he’s not here, but this week in particular I just wanted to snuggle with him and I missed his hot breath in my face (it’s the little gross things). 🙂

Let’s dive into our weekly gratitude. Don’t forget to link up with Lindsay and Krysten and let us know what’s making you shine this week.

Beautiful, sunshine-filled days. Even if (and especially when) they appear in February

Going for drives. Just because

Taking long walks and stopping by Parisian cafes for caramel coffee

Making it back to the gym, even if only briefly

My blog friends. For always adding some sunshine into my life

Morning smoothies with strawberries, blueberries, bananas, spinach, chia seeds, and peanut butter. Yum!

The new Weekend song with Daft Punk. I friggin love this one, don’t judge

Happy memories of Jamaica

The woman I encountered at Whole Foods yesterday. I was in the canned tomato aisle looking for pizza sauce. I decided to pick up a can of tomato paste, because it was only 99 cents and I made a bomb pizza sauce out of it the last time (and it’s almost $3 cheaper than store bought). A woman looked at my can and started talking about BPA-free lining and how you should never buy cans with BPA or something, I dunno, I was zoning out at this point. Then I looked at the pizza sauce and she goes “MUCH BETTER PURCHASE!” and you know what I did? I put down the tomato paste and bought the pizza sauce instead. Did she shame me? Whatever. Now I don’t have to whip up my own, I guess. I’m still grateful!

Stay tuned—I’m going to publish a post on Sunday about the mattress I was recently sent and I’d love to have you here! Also they are currently offering $100 off the Sleep Smart Mattress with code: SLEEPSMART100 (valid only for mattress).

What’s on tap for the weekend? Let me know in the comments!

I am so with you on the sunshine-y days in February! I am LOVING this weather.
And that’s so weird about the canned tomato paste. When it gets to things like that I just say #yolo and buy it anyways haha.

I’ve also been LOVING the sunny weather here! It’s so nice to go on walks in February. 🙂 Have a great weekend Charlotte!

People crack me up when they start sharing their opinions. Plus, you got sent a mattress?? Interested to hear more! Happy Weekend.

I’m a restaurant blogger so there’s gonna be a bias here but I love that you took time to enjoy a few smoothies. Strawberries are my fave, yet another bias, so I’m glad they were in it. And the Weekend x Daft Punk collab is a great song so I’m in total agreement with you!!!

Sunshine is the best, especially in February!

I just cannot with people who think I need to know their opinion! Love your reaction and can’t wait to hear more about that mattress!
Also I have some serious catching up to do! Happy weekend xxx hugs, hun

loving the weather too although it’s kinda of finicky. i dont know people feel the need to shame or judge other people’s choices..

Sunshine and smoothies… yes! The pizza sauce story made me snicker. I can’t believe some people are so vocal. 🙂

Aw, I’m glad Buster is back home! I always miss my dog when I’m always. That smoothie sounds great. Once I can do my own breakfast again, I think I’m going to focus a lot on smoothies because they are relatively easy to do!

I’ll take sunshine in February! I live in a place where it’s normally very bleak in Feb, although we did get some nice weather and sun this week. And love the ocean pic!

Shybiker February 26, 2017, 12:32 PM

Glad you’re re-adjusting to “normal” life after returning from your vacation. I always find it hard, but interesting, to note how I react to returning to usual routines after such a break. We’d be interested in hearing in a future post how you experienced and feel about that. It’s something that everyone goes through but rarely discusses in pubicl.

Oops… typing error. Obviously meant to type “public.”

I like the way you smoothie!
The idea of caramel coffee.. Parisian caramel coffee, no less. is so appealing.
Even as appealing as hot breath from someone you love!

lisa thomson February 26, 2017, 5:32 PM

That’s true love; Buster’s ‘hot breath’ LOL. So funny. Cutest. Sounds like a busy week Charlotte. Sorry I’m late to your gratitude post. I love drives with zero destination. Just kickin’ back with the tunes and seeing some countryside. A Parisian cafe sounds lovely too.
BPA are a ‘thing’ but only if you eat a lot of canned goods. Funny how people like to chat at the grocery store. One lady taught me how to buy perfect mushrooms and which ones to avoid. That was over twenty years ago, but I always remember her tips. 🙂

How fun. What a crazy week you had! It has been warm here, too 🙂

Liz February 27, 2017, 12:08 AM

I love this list! The little things are the best things. These definitely make me happy too 🙂 Have a great weekend!

Just wanted to stop by and thanks for being so supportive.
Much love my dear, xoxox!

Let the sun shine 🙂
So, my family and I cut canned foods out of our lives for years, BUT I recently slowly have introduced some back in. There are some companies who have got rid of BPA, but sadly, not all. I’ve been trying to let go of that, but now I’m getting all paranoid on whether not our Trader Joe’s beans are BPA-free. Thanks random lady at WF!
I need a caramel coffee now… 🙂
XOXO
