Della review and giveaway

– Posted in: featured, sponsored post

I was not compensated for this post. I received a headband and a travel bag from Della LA in exchange for this review; all opinions are entirely my own.

Over the past few years, I’ve tried to keep myself educated on how everything in my life is sourced—from the foods that I eat to the clothing that I wear. If given the option to shop local and buy only sustainable, I know where to go and how to facilitate this without spending a large fortune. And while I haven’t perfected this in all areas of my life just yet (hello Dunkin’ Donuts addiction!), I try my best to support companies that contribute to the greater good and believe in giving back.

I’m very excited today to introduce you to a fashion brand that believes in an incredibly simple but important message—Carry Change. Based in LA, Della is a woman-owned (and run!) business that works directly with a community in West Africa, by providing jobs, education, and skills to their employees. In their own words:

“We are driven by awareness of the need for a global market that provides socially-responsible, quality products. We are not a charity; we are a business done – and doing – ‘right.’”

You can meet some of the women at Della and see how their beautiful clothing is made in this video:

I reached out to this brand a few weeks ago after seeing them mentioned on a list of fashion brands that give back. As someone who has never shied away from bold, colorful prints, Della’s clothing immediately appealed to me—and I hope their clothing will appeal to you, too!

Also on a personal note, it’s great when a brand is truly invested not only in the quality of their products but also in creating a wonderful customer service experience. I have found that to be the case with each interaction I’ve had with their brand reps and they have a FABULOUS Instagram page that you should immediately go and check out.

Though I will say the headband is just a little bit stiff (not really a problem for me since it actually helped to keep my mane in place!), I really do love the pattern on this fun Jalapeno Classic Headband. The cute little bag, called Poppy Large Travel Bag, features a watercolor design and is big enough to carry a pair of glasses, a small change purse, and a bag of mints (which is what I had in mine for the day).

Today you have the chance to win a headband and bag of your own—just enter the linky below! Good luck 🙂

I love when companies give back! I use to be much better at being sustainable, shopping local, and having more knowledge of where my goods were coming from and how. I’ve become lazy-ish. This is bad because I have a degree that touched on green and sustainable enterprises, so I KNOW the impact of not knowing the impact….

Anyway, Della has so many awesome items! How can you just pick one? The turban headbands are cute, the watercolor travel bags are perfect, and I wonder if I could stuff myself in one of those cute rompers. 🙂
Happy Leap Day!

I’ve become more aware of how the things I am using are made. I love the travel bag (headbands don’t work well with my head).

Very nice. And your point is important. I just watched John Oliver’s piece on “Fashion” showing the high human cost of making fast fashion. Horrible stuff. (The video is on YouTube.)

I love that they give back to the community and help employ those that need it and thus empowering them for change. 🙂
