Body Shaper: perfect for post-Thanksgiving food belly

– Posted in: product review, sponsored post

It’s hard to imagine that in just a few days, we’ll be seated at dinner tables across the country stuffing our little faces with the delicious foods of Thanksgiving. Where in the hell did the month of November go? Or October, for that matter? Regardless of the fact that I feel like I’m losing all sense of time and place, this is my favorite time of year and I’m excited to celebrate the holiday with loved ones this week. As crazy as my family makes me, I’ve come to realize that everyone has a family that drives them a little bit nuts and it adds to the fun of the holiday, right?

Yesterday Bryan and I went to Trader Joe’s to stock up on some items I’ll need for meal prep this week. I’m thinking of making a pumpkin pie, vegan stuffing, and perhaps a sweet potato mac and cheese dish that completely rocked my socks off recently. Since I’ll be going out to a restaurant with Bryan’s family earlier in the day, I’d like to try my hand at crafting some cookie dough truffles for dessert at his parent’s house.

The point is, if ever there was a need for a body shaper, now is definitely that time.

I was recently contacted about Leonisa, an online retail store that specializes in fun, sexy, and fashionable women’s lingerie (though a quick peek at the website reveals some products for men, too, like shapers and boxers). Ever since a friend told me she wears a bodysuit with a corseted top to fit into her skinny jeans a bit more comfortably, I knew I wanted one, too. I’m tired of doing that really awkward skinny jeans shimmy. Girls, you know what I’m talking about, right? The one that starts when you pull up your pants on the bed and ends up with you doing splits on the floor of your bedroom?

Well, ask and ye shall receive, right? My Vintage Interlace Tummy Control Bodysuit came in the mail recently and I fell in love instantly with the lace and intricate design. This is not a cheap, polyester garment–there is a lot of attention to detail within the bodysuit itself and it is incredibly sexy. It got two thumbs up when I showed it to Bryan who initially suffered a minor heart attack because he thought I was supposed to model it in pictures for this review. Ha!

As a disclaimer, I will say, however, that the sizes run VERY small. But fret not: there is a very helpful sizing chart online that can help you determine your fit based on waist and hip measurements. I was a bit nervous ordering a size large since I am usually a small to a medium, but it fits perfectly. You can also choose from a smooth or firm control, depending on how loose you’d like your bodysuit to fit (I opted for the smooth control because personally I like to breathe while eating).

I would very highly recommend this product to anyone looking to cinch in that waist/tummy a bit. Not only does it help keep everything in place, but it’s sexy shape wear that lifts the butt slightly and exemplifies the curves. And it’ll keep family members from asking if I’m pregnant at the dinner table this year, which is always a good thing.

Very cute for a body shaper! My spanx just look ugly! Thanksgiving is definitely a time for body shapers and corsets. Or cheating and wearing a big sweater with leggings and letting it all hang out! That’s my plan this year!

Since I have a permanent pooch due to my spine, I’d love this!
