How to get free dates this season with HowABoutWe for Couples

It’s very rare that Bryan and I actually have the chance to go out on a date together. Since we started dating, we have had to contend with conflicting schedules and limited alone time. Though it hasn’t always been easy, it’s taught us to make the most of the time we do get to spend together. When I was asked to be a part of a campaign that would essentially require us to go on a date (all expenses paid), there was simply no way I could pass up the opportunity.

In the beginning of the month, I received a datebook from HowAboutWe for Couples with a wide assortment of options, including tickets to see Chaplin and the new Matthew Broderick show Nice Work if You Can Get It, at-home guitar lessons for two, a private baking lesson and dessert tasting, and an hour-long shoot with a professional photographer to name just a few. We enjoyed perusing through the selections but finally decided on a four-course dinner with wine at celebrity chef Todd English’s restaurant Olives in the W Hotel in Union Square.

On a night when hundreds of Santas were getting wasted on the streets of Manhattan, Bryan and I enjoyed a yummy vegetarian meal the chefs had specially prepared which began with a flatbread appetizer with carrot hummus (my favorite!), eggplant, olive, and yogurt dipping sauces; another app that consisted of braised butternut squash; and handmade butternut squash tortellini. Dessert was a delicious chocolate pudding with crunchy cookie topping. Oh, and we also received two glasses of red and white wine each along with some Prosecco. At some point during the meal, I was playing footsie with the table because I was maybe possibly a little bit drunk.

(Many thanks also to our awesome waiter Solomon who clearly explained all dining options and catered to our vegetarian diets.)

HowAboutWe for Couples is a subscription based service that sends you and your significant other a new “DateBook” each month filled with pre-planned, one-of-a-kind experiences in your city. Membership is $22 per month and gets you access to FREE HowAboutWe dates. Perks include sold-out tickets and members-only events, early booking on HowAboutWe dates, up to 75% off other HowAboutWe dates, couples rewards membership which means no commitment and the chance to cancel at any time. Dates on this site can also be purchased as a non-member without the member discount and other benefits.

What I like so much about this service is that the dates are flexible and can be scheduled whenever you like (unless it’s a one-time-only scheduled event like a concert, performance, or special excursion). The choices are diverse enough to cover the needs of any couple and the benefits are really outstanding.

#1 – it doesn’t look like you liked the pudding at all – you had to clean it all out of the dish just so you didn’t have to look at it anymore! hee hee! HOORAY for date night with Bryan! I’m so happy that you got to go on a date together to place I passed many times, never thinking I’d ever be able to go in. :)
