Over at Rubber Chicken Madness today!

Oh, hello, you guys! Anyone else feel as though the world is whizzing by at a dizzying tempo these past few weeks? Lately I’ve just been going through the motions without really enjoying the season, which is unfortunate because I adore everything about this time of year. Well, aside from mean people and the throngs of tourists and shoppers in midtown. Christmas reminds me of my childhood and that one time my dad brought jingle bells on to the front stoop of the house and then threw them in the bushes before my brother came charging down the stairs, excitement and magic in his eyes. “I heard Santa this time! I really heard him!” Sadly, that was also the year I broke my brother’s heart and told him there was no such thing as Santa and I was grounded for nine months. Good times.

This morning I thought of the old Jim Croce song “Time in a Bottle.” If you’ve heard it before, you know it’s quite possibly the saddest song ever written. It just exudes shmaltz, but you know what? I don’t care. I love it and these are the days when I wish I could save every day ’til Eternity passes away just to spend them with youuuuu…

Anyway, my sweet bloggy friend Kim of Rubber Chicken Madness is featuring a post I wrote about a cliche I hated when I was single… that turned out to be 100% true. I touch on some really hard-hitting topics, like why it’s important to turn off Bravo and put on your big girl panties sometimes. Please check it out here!

I will go read. There are so many dating cliches that drive me nuts! I feel like I’ve been non-stop moving lately and I need to slow down. I keep trying to finish the nursery and Match keeps reminding me that we have at least 6 more months before it needs to be ready and to slooow down. I think it’s the hustle and bustle of this season. So today I’m going to kick back, read some blogs and relax!

Wow, nine months… that’s brutal! My cousin informed me that Santa was a myth, which I then immediately turned on my brother. That’s kinda part of the tradition, too, if you think about it! LOL!

I never would have pegged you as the “stealing happiness from the very heart of children” type…but I suppose it’s a bit different when it’s your brother LOL And I too love that Jim Croce song…it’s sad but it’s good. I will pop over there later and read that post. Happy Holidays my dear!
